2024 Cross Border Tax Workshop - Vienna, Austria Host Firm: BF Consulting Wirtschaftsprüfungs GmbH Topic: Tax avoidance, tax havens - quo vadis? At last year's Tax Workshop in Berlin, we discussed global tax incentives and subsidies as well as countries' tax policies to attract companies and highly qualified employees to their jurisdictions. This is a perspective to "pull" economic activity to the countries with the incentives. This year, we want to shift the focus and examine the challenges and strategies in the fight against tax havens. We are looking at the mechanisms that "push" economic activity out of tax havens. The 2024 Cross Border Tax Workshop intends to give participants and overview of the existing measures country by country and by organizations of countries acting together against tax havens around the world. We will discuss tax, and economic effects of government imposed by avoidance measures. Participants from the different countries will be kindly requested to prepare a short PowerPoint Presentation on the sprecifics of their country on this subject. A PowerPoint Presentation template will be sent to each participant after registration. Participants from the same country can work in one group and prepare one presentation together. After the workshop, a combined presentation for all countries will be available for all members.
